Retrato/ Portrait

Me temo que no soy capaz de pintar en estos dias tan calurosos, asi que pongo este retrato que hice hace algunos días. Es un hombre de la localidad de Ochagavía que estaba en el bar. Le hice una foto y a otros compañeros de la Facultad. No me atreveria a poner los retratos de mis amigos para no perder su amistad. A lo mejor mañana.

I'm afraid not can be able to paint in these days so hot, so I post an portrait I did some days ago. It's a Ochagavia local man who was at the bar. I took a photo of him and other workmates of the Faculty.
I wouldn't dare to show portraits of my friends to avoid losing of their friendship. Maybe tomorrow.

Anciano con una pipa/ An old man with smoking pipe

Este es mi primer retrato en este año. Lo hice en su mayor parte en húmedo sobre húmedo excepto alunos rasgos como los ojos y la boca. Aúnque prefiero no pintar tan realista decidí probar. La próxima vez intentaré hacerlo más suelto y ver que pasa.

This is my first portrait in this year. I did the most of it in wet-into-wet except some feature like mouth and eyes. Even though I prefer not to paint so realistic, I decided to try. Next time I'll attempt to do it looser and see what happens.

Pueblo/Village

Una vez finalizado el año, yo también termino mis ensayos con las diferentes técnicas en acuarela que yo he llamado pudorosamente "estilos".

Fue muy interesante observar las reacciones a mis pinturas sin comentarios, así los lectores pudieron poner lo que opinaban libremente.

Ahora vuelvo a dejar los comentarios, esperando que se digan en libertad sus puntos de vista, así que yo los agradezco de antemano y pido perdón si no contesto siempre, como ya probablemente se sabe muchos viejos son distraidos y muchos de ellos maleducados o se enfadan. Como yo. Es una broma.
Mis objetivos para este año son pintar paisajes urbanos y retratos. Trataré de hacerlos.

Se me olvidaba  que nunca he conseguido mis objetivos con la pintura. ¡No es broma!

Once the year is over, I also finished my tests with differents techniques in watercolor, which were called modestly "styles".

It was very interesting to notice the reactions to my paintings without any comment, thereby, readers were able to put their views freely.

Now I come back to putting comments, expecting that people can say sincerely their views, so that I thank you in advance and beg perdon if not always I answer, as probably you know a lot of old people is distracted and some of them are impolite or get angry, like I am. It's a joke

My objectives for this new year are to do with cityscapes and portraits. I'll try painting all of them.

Sorry, I forgot to tell I never have gotten my objectives with painting. No kidding!

Patio Cordobes

Hace unos días la Unesco concedió a los Patios Cordoboses como un nuevo lugar de Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Córdoba ya tiene también la Mezquita como Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
Esto que he pintado es un ejemplo de Patio Cordobés. Hay muchos tiestos con flores pintados generalmente con diferentes colores tales como azul. Aquí traté de pintar una buganvilla y tiestos colgando de las paredes. Naturalmente, los Patios Cordobeses tienen más plantas, fuentes y otros tipos de ornamentos tales como estatuas.
Una muestra muy buena de eso es el Palacio de Viana con varias clases de patios.
Y ahora aprovecho esta oportunidad para desear a todos unas Felices Navidades.

Some days ago, Unesco granted to the "Patios Cordobeses" as new the World Heritage site. Cordoba also  has already the Mosque as World Heritage.
This I've painted is an example of "Patio Cordobes".There are  many flowerpots painted generally with diferent colors like blue or other ones. Here I tryed to paint one bougainvillea and hanging flowerpots on walls. Of course, the "Patios Cordobeses" have more plants, fountains and other types of ornaments like for example statues.
A very good pattern of that is the "Palacio de Viana" with various kinds of patios.
And now, I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Another painting taking as source other I did at Sigüenza workshop.

Hice esta acuarela utilizando otra hecha en el taller de Sigüenza que impartió Javier Zorrilla. Fue un curso interesante y toda la gente aprendió un montón, además lo pasamos estupendamente. Yo aprendí tres cosas importantes. Una que es mucho mejor simplificar los detalles. Dos que es conveniente distinguir los planos del fondo de la media distancia y del primer plano. Por último algo que ya sabía que que siempre olvido, no insistir con las pinceladas

I did this watercolor using another done in Sigüenza's workshop that was imparted by Javier Zorrilla. It was an interesting course and all people attending  learnt a lot,  furthermore spending a good time.
I learnt three important things. One,  It's much better to simplify detail. Two, it's convenient to differentiate background,  middle ground and  foreground. Finally something I already knew but always I forget it, not insist with brushstrokes.
I don't like what I did at the workshop, but I'll utilize those watercolor for painting them again

Aprovechando que estoy en Galicia y que el tiempo es típicamente gallego, es decir llueve casi todos los días, he pintado este paisaje de una foto que tomé hace tiempo.
Tengo intención de pintar al aire libre y espero hacerlo antes de volver a Madrid. Este mes asistiré a un curso de acuarela que da Javier Zorrilla en Sigüenza. Si me gusta lo que haga lo pondré en el Blog, si no a la papelera.

Taking advantage of I'm In Galicia and the weather is galician typical, it's say is raining almost every days, I've painted this landscape from a photo I took  time ago.
I plan to paint outside, I hope can do it before go back to Madrid. This month I'll attend to a Javier Zorrilla's workshop at Sigüenza. If what I do I like, I'll post it if not, into the trash can

Pinté esto en la clase al aire libre de acuarela. La profesora me dijo que no estaba demasiado mal, asi que tendré que mandarla una caja de puros en Navidad.

I painted this at the watercolor outdoor class. The teacher said to me that it wasn't too bad, so that I'll have to send her a cigar box at Christmas days
