Esta acuarela comencé a pintar en Sigüenza cunado estabamos Jaime, Blanca y Patricia, pero no pude terminarla y casi un mes después lo he hecho. Me siento algo inquieto porque me gusta.

I began to paint this watercolor at Sigüenza, when I was painting with Jaime, Blanca and Patricia, but could finished and almost a month later I've done it. I feel a bit disquiet, because I like it.

He vuelto de un corto viaje a Cordoba, donde tomé varias fotos. Esta acuarela pertenece a una de ellas. Es uno de los lugares del rio Guadalquivir.
Cuando la he terminado me he dado cuenta que la composición no es buena. Así que trataré de pintarlo otra vez en otro dia, pero también es posible que sea peor. Veremos.

I came back from a short trip to Cordoba, where I took several photos. This watercolor belongs to one of them. It represents one place of the  Guadalquivir river.
When, I've just finished I realize that the composition is not good. So I'll try painting again in other day, but It's also possible that still can be worst. Wait and see.

He pinatdo otra vez el mismo tema del otro día: rocas, hierbas y agua.

I've painted again the same theme that the other day: rocks, grass and water.

Mandarinas/Tangerines

Parecen naranjas, sin embargo son mandarinas. Si tratas de comerlas encontrarás un fuerte sabor a mandarina, de modo que no se confunda son mandarinas.

They look like oranges, nevertheless, are tangerines. If you try to eat them, you'll find a strong taste to tangerine, so that not get confused what I've painted are tangerines.

Paisaje nevado/ Snowy landscape

Para esta acuarela utilicé tres colores: amarillo, rojo y azul.
Se hizo con el método de R. Roycraft. Primero enmascaré las zonas de luz. Cuando estaba seco, humedecí el papel con un humedificador y  vertí la primera veladura de color amarillo con un platillo. Una vez que la primera veladura esta seca, seguí vertiéndo las siguientes capas de rojo y azul dejando secar cada una antes de la siguiente.
Durante este proceso, es necesario inclinar el tablero para permitir que los colores vayan corriendo sobre el papel y usando el humedificador para ajustar los colores.
Finalmente, si es necesario, retoco algo con mi pincel.

For this watercolor I used three colors: yellow, red and blue.
It was done using the R. Roycraft method. First, I masked the light zones. When it's dry, I wet the paper with one sprayer, and the first layer of yellow color is poured with a saucer. Once the first layer is dry, I go on pouring the next layers of red and blue leaving each one dry before next layer.
During this process,  It is necessary tilting the board to permit the colors  go running  on the paper and keep using the sprayer to adjust the colors.
Finally, if it's necessary,  I retouch something with my brush.

Paisaje del Pirineo/Pyrenees's landscape

Este es un pequeño pueblo de los Pirineos que yo he interpretado a mi manera, por lo tanto, he suprimido lo que no me interesaba. Comencé pintando un lavado ligero de color naranja sobre el cielo y la tierra, luego continué con el pueblo y las montañas lejanas con naranja, azul y carmín. Finalmente pinté sobre esto, verdes, grises rojizos y verdes azulados sobre la parte superior del pueblo.
Me gusta más el original que la foto. Los azules y violetas de la montaña no se han reproducido bien. Pero así es la vida digital.

This is little village of Pyrenees. I've interpreted it to my way, therefore, I've deleted what It wasn't interesting. I began doing a weak wash of orange color over the sky and land, then continuing with the village and the far mountains with orange, blue and carmine. Finally, I painted on this  wash, greens, red grays, and blue greens on top of the village.
I like more the original that the picture. The blues and violets from the mountains are not being well reproduced. But that's the digital life.

Paisaje manchego/Landscape of La Mancha

He pintado este paisaje de Castilla la Mancha pero desconozco donde está el lugar. Podría ser que alguien lo reconociese a pesar de mis simplificaciones. Es una lástima, pero quizás si tuviese comentarios en mi blog, podría enterarme de todo.

I've painted a Castilla la Mancha's landscape but I don't know which place is. It could be that someone can recognize it despite my simplifications. It's a pity, but perhaps If I had comments in my blog, I could find out everything about it.

Torre de Hércules/ Lighthouse Torre de Hércules

Comienzo el año con esta acuarela inspirada en varias fotos que mi amiga Patricia Castelao me envió. Es una magnífica ilustradora que además pinta retratos en acuarela. A veces le envío mis acuarelas para conocer su opinión. De ésta ya me la ha dado.
La acuarela quiere ser el mar golpeando contra las rocas con el Faro de Hércules al fondo.

I start this year with this watercolor inspired from several pictures that my friend Patricia Castelao sent to me. She is a great illustrator, who besides does portraits in watercolor. Sometimes I send her my watercolors to know her opinion. From this one, I already know it.
The watercolor  wants to be the sea hitting against the rocks with the Lighthouse-Torre de Hércules- at the background.
