Lilas /Lilacs

Esta es mi version de las lilas. Me di cuenta horrorizado, que todo el mundo estaba pintando lilas, así que comprendí que tenia que pintar unas también. He incluido, por el mismo precio, otra pintura en óleo que hice hace tres años por si estas no os gustan.

This is my version on lilacs. I realized, horrified, that all people were painting lilacs, so I understood  needed to do also ones. I've included other rendering in oil that I did three years ago for the same price, in case you don't like these.

Cascada y árboles /Faterfall and trees

Después de haber pintado este paisaje, voy a pintar un retrato esta vez seguro.

After this landscape, I'm going to paint a portrait. This time sure.

Marina/ Seascape

Mientras cojo fuerzas para pintar un retrato. Hice este paisaje que es más facil que una cara.

While I force myself into doing a portrait, I painted this landscape that is easier than a face.

Un recuero de vacaciones /A memory on vacations

He pintado estas figuras para ver la diferencia entre la pintura realizada cuidadosamente y la hecha suelta. En otra ocasión voy a tratar de hacerlo más suelto.
Algunos pintores como Carol Marine en óleo o Richard Stephens en acuarelas, proponen hacer una pintura en un tiempo, dependiendo del tamaño, por ejemplo, en unas dos horas para una acuarela de 46x57cm. Después se debe pintar en una hora. Se sugiere que al hacerlo así se puede obtener una pintura mucho más fresca, sin sobrecargarla y definitivamente más suelta. Se basa en que se ha visto anticipadamente cuales eran las dificultades y la segunda vez se es capaz de pintar con confianza y naturalidad.
Cuando hice esto mi primera acuarela no era muy buena, pero la segunda era peor. !Qué cosas¡

I painted this figures to watch the difference between painting tightly and  loosely. This was done carefully. Another time I'll try to do it more  loosely.
Some painters, like Carol Marine in oils or Richard Stephens in watercolors, propose creating  a painting in one period of time, depending on size, for example, in about two hours for a watercolor 46x57 cm. Then, you have to paint it again in one hour. It's suggested that doing so you can obtain a painting much more fresh not  overworked, and definitely looser. It's based on you had saw in advance  which were difficulties and the second time you are able to paint with confidence and naturally.
When I did this my first watercolor wasn't too good, but the second one was worst. What a things!

Boceto para un óleo/ Sketch for oil painting

Esta acuarela es un boceto para una pintura al óleo que voy a empezar el lunes. Lo que he hecho en un papel de celulosa para bocetos en acuarela que no es caro, pero que yo sólo lo uso para poner los valores y matices. No tiene ninguna otra aspiración.
Seguramente cuando empiece  mi óleo cambiaré algunos tonos y colores.
El tema es una cascada recibiendo la luz mientras está cayendo.
John Pike tiene una acuarela maravillosa que es la portada de su libro. Lo puedes ver aquí. Tengo ese libro, y sólo se puede apreciar realmente, como un gran cuadro que es, si lo ves en su sitio.

This watercolor is a sketch for an oil that I'll begin on monday. I've done on a paper of cellulose for watercolor sketches that is not expensive, but I only use it to put values and hues. It doesn't have any other aspiration.
When I start my oil, probably  some tones and  colors will be changed.
The theme is a waterfall receiving light while is falling.
John Pike has a wonderfull watercolor that is the his book's front cover. You can see it here. I have that book, and you only can apreciate really,  such as a  great painting  it is, if you see it on its site.

Pelegrina y su castillo/ Pelegrina and its castle

Cuando el año pasado asistí al taller de Zorrilla, todos los participantes fuimos a Pelegrina para tratar de pintarlo, pero el tiempo era tan caluroso que sólo comimos, la pura verdad un poco caro, pero nos lo pasamos muy bien, riendo y hablando de todo, lo cual es la mejor manera de pasar el tiempo en los talleres, bueno, y también pintando, aunque no siempre muy bien, pero para eso están los talleres.
Como me quedé con ganas de pintarlo, he hecho este paisaje de Pelegrina, recordando los buenos amigos del taller.

When last year I attended  the Zorrilla's workshop,  all participants went to Pelegrina to try paint it, but the weather  was so hot that we only ate, the plain truth a bit expensive but we had a good time, laughing and talking about everything, which is the best way to spend the time at the workshops, well, and also painting even though always not too well, but for that there are the workshops.
As I remained with desire to paint it, I've done this landscape of Pelegrina, remembering to the good friends of workshop.

Pescadores de alta mar/ Deep sea fishermen

Esta acuarela se presentó al concurso de Iberart. Se pueden ver todas las pinturas selecionadas y los trabajos finalistas.
Cada trabajo tiene una descripción técnica sobre como se hizo. Yo lo hice húmedo sobre húmedo, empapando la parte posterior y delantera del papel excepto donde quería dejar bordes rígidos.
Mi acuarela representa los pescadores de alta mat en una tormenta.

This watercolor was presented to Iberart's contest. They can be see all paintings selected and the finalist works.
Each work has a technical desciption on how it has done. I did it wet-into-wet, soaking the back and front of paper except where I wanted to leave found edges.
My watercolor represents deep sea fishermen, in a storm.
