Barcos de pesca/Fishing boats

He hecho otro ejercicio de pintar el mar en acuarela. Primero hice el cielo con colores de siena natural, quinacridona rojo y azul cobalto, luego puse un lavado claro con los colores del cielo sobre la zona del mar. Cuando el papel estaba casi mate deje unas pincelas algo espesas de azul y cambié a colores cálidos en la parte superior.
Cuando estaba seco pinte los barcos y sus reflejos.

I did other exercise about painting the sea in watercolor. First  I painted the sky with colors raw sienna, quinacridone red and cobalt blue then I put a wash with the sky color over zone of sea. When the paper was almost matte, I dropped in some brush strokes of blue color with paint something thick but I changed with warm colors on top.
When it was dry I did the boats and their reflexions.

Luz de Venecia/ Venice's light

Sigo pintando temas de Venecia. Mi interés era sobre el fondo, cómo conseguir diferenciar entre el fondo y el plano medio de los edificios.
Dejé caer la luz del sol entre los edificios y sobre el agua.
He usado mis colores usuales: rojo quinacridona, azul cobalto y siena natural, también algo de ultramar y gis Payne.

I keep painting about Venice's themes. My interest was on the background, how getting to differentiate between the buildings in midground and background.
I left the sun light falling on one side of the buildings and over the water.
I've used my usual colors: crinaquidone red(it's a red similar to carmine), cobalt blue and raw sienna. Also I've used something of ultramarine blue and gray Payne.

Venecia/Venice

Si se pinta en acuarela es completamente necesario pintar algo sobre Venecia.
Yo he cumplido con mi deber.

If you paint in watercolor it's completely necessary  doing something about Venice.
I've done my duty .

Mariscadoras/ Shellfish gatheres

Empecé el cielo dejando algunas pinceladas con agua y después puse algunos colores azul, rojo y sienna natural. Cuando estaba casi seco pinté la costa para obtener bordes suaves y las nubes.
La arena la pinté con algunas zonas húmedo sobre húmedo y otras sobre seco. Uní el agua que pinté del mar con la arena para mostrar la arena mojada.
Use líquido de enmascarar para las figuras y no tener que pintar alrededor de ellas.
Por último pinté las figuras y sus reflejos.

I started the sky dropping some brushstrokes with water and later I put down some colors of blue, red, and raw sienna. When the wash was almost dry I painted the coast to get soft edges and clouds.
The sand of some areas was painted wet into wet, and others in dry. The water painted of the sea was joined with painted sand before, to show wet sand.
I used some masking fluid for the figures to avoid to paint around of them.
Finally I painted the figures and theirs reflections.

Paisaje rural/ Rural landscape

He hecho esta acuarela de una foto que tome hace tiempo de un paisaje de Galicia. Era un día brumoso cerca del mar, pero mas luminoso hacia el interior.
He utilizado azul cobalto para el cielo con algo de rosa. En el fondo he puesto algunas pincelas en húmedo sobre húmedo para representar zonas con bruma.
En el plano medio he puesto verde esmeralda con siena natural para pintar los arboles y un poco de amarillo para los campos.
En el primer plano he usado colores mas intensos mezclano sepia con el verde esmeralda.

I've done this watercolor from a photo of a landscape of Galicia that I took time ago. In it I painted a misty day near to sea, but brighter further inland.
I've usedfor the sky cobalt blue  with some of pink color. At the background I've painted some brushstrokes wet into wet to show places where there was misty.
At the middleground I've used  emerald green with raw umber to paint trees and I mixed a bit of yellow for fields.
Mixing green colors with sepia my colors were more strong  and I've used them on the foreground.

Paisaje urbano/ Cityscape

Esta es una acuarela de un día soleado de verano en Nerja un pueblo de Andalucia lleno de turistas vestidos con pantalones cortos, como está mandado, si quieres portarte como un auténtico turista.
Pero hablando de pintura, yo casi me había olvida de como pintar los árboles. ¡mamma mia!,(este es todo el italiano que se, además de Sofia Loren).
Hay muchas formas de pintar los árboles, tantas como artistas. Yo he usado durante mucho tiempo el el sistema de Tony Couch. Es muy fácil y se obtienen muy buenos resultados. Pero no voy a decir como lo hace, se debe comprar su libro para apoyarlo. Es un libro muy bueno al alcance de los torpes como yo era.

This is a sunny summer day in Nerja, one village of Andalucia full of tourist, where all get dressed with short trousers as it's completely mandatory if you want to pass as an authentic vacationer.
But talking about painting, I almost had forgotten how to paint trees, mamma mia! (that is all I know in Italian, also Sofia Loren).
There are as many ways as artists to paint trees. During a long time I used the Tony Couch's way. Is very easy and you can get very good results.But,. Pero no voy a decir  I'm not going to say how he does it, I think you should better buy his book to support him. It's a very good book accesible to clumsy people like I was.

Marina/ Seascape

He utilizado azul cerúleo con azul cobalto para pintar el cielo, y ultramarino y cobalto para el mar.
Los barcos los pinté con azul ultramar, pero creo que debería mezclarse con siena tostada para neutralizarlo un poco.

I've used cerulean blue mixed with cobalt blue for painting the sky, and ultramarine blue and cobalt for the sea.
The ships were painted using ultramarine and, but I think it should be mixed with burnt sienna to get neutralize a bit. I must remember it for next time.
