Mi nieta Amalia/ Amalia my granddaughter

Por supuesto, he pintado mi nieta a partir de una foto, no del natural. La pintura de retratos precisa un dibujante bastante y yo todavía no lo soy. Quizás mañana(bolero)

Of course, I've painted my granddaughter from a picture not from natural. Paintings of portraits require a good enough draftsman and still I'm not .  Quizás mañana(bolero) /Perhaps, tomorrow (bolero)

Tomando el sol/ In the sun

Envié esta pintura al desafío de  Daily Paintwors. La verdad es que tiene demasiados colores y quizás un poco o muy fuertes dependiendo de como se mire. Pero hace tiempo, leí que a la gente de USA les gustaban los colores saturados, por lo menos en las fotos y entre mis pinturas favoritas se encuentra el fovismo.
Si ,lo se, es una mala excusa.
Pero en cualquier caso, prometo tratar de hacer una acuarela con los colores armonizados.

This painting was sent to DPW challenges. Certainly, It has too many colors and perhaps a bit or a too strong, depending on how you see it. But, time ago, I read that  people of US liked saturated colors, at least in photos and between my favorites paintings it finds the fauvism.
Yes, I know, it's a bad excuse.
But, in any case, I promise trying to make a watercolor with more harmonized colors.

Reflejos/ Refections

Algunas partes de esta acuarela las pinte sobre papel seco y otras sobre húmedo. Para pintar el agua primero puse una aguada bastante débil de color naranja y la continué con azul cobalto. Todo mientras el papel estaba húmedo. Luego cuando se seco, pinté los reflejos.
Para la parte de vegetación encima del agua una parte la pinte sobre seco, las ramas del árbol las hice con pincel seco. Yo suelo usar un "mini mister" que permite humedecer solo las partes que necesito.

In  this watercolor  some sites were painted on dry and others wet into wet. To paint the water I put  first a weak orange wash on the half of water and on the rest, other one of cobalt blu. All while the paper was moist. Then when it was completly dry I painted the reflections.
For the vegetation that is above the water  one section  was painted on dry paper, the tree branches with dry brush, but, the background instead was painted wet-into-wet the most of it . When the paper is getting dry, I get used to employ a mini-mister. It lets me wetting only those pieces I need.

Mariscadora/Fisherwooman

Mientras estoy tratando de terminar un paisaje marino al óleo, he pintado esta mariscadora en acuarela, cogiendo almejas. Ese es un trabajo penoso, asi que no deberiamos quejarnos por el precio. Bueno, yo me quejo.

While I try finishing one seascape in oils, I've painted this watercolor which represents a fisherwoman who catchs seafood. That is a hard work, so that we shouldn't complain about its prices. Well, I complain.

Bodegon con uvas / Still life of grapes

Me despido con este bodegón hasta la vuelta de vacaciones.

I say goodbye with this still life until go back of my vacations.

Contraluz/ Backligting

En DPW puede verse el desafio propuesto para esta semana. Consiste en poner los valores correctos en una pintura, utilizando una foto en blanco y negro.

Paisaje urbano nº 6/ Cityscape number 6

 Este hace el número seis de mis paisajes urbanos. Como ya expliqué hace poco mis profundas investigaciones sobre los paisajes urbanos en acuarela me llevaron a una terrible conclusión. Es necesario llegar a 20 o más para conseguir resultados aceptables.
De modo que tendré que esperar

This is my number 6 from cityscapes. As I explained, little time ago, my deep investigations on the watercolor cityscapes led me to one terrible conclusion. It's necessary to reach 20 or more  in order to obtain acceptable results.
So that, I'll have to wait.

Barcos/ Ships

He pintado estos barcos de una foto que tome en Cambados. Las barcas del primer plano las pinte húmedo sobre húmedo para experimentar. Como puede verse un experimento terrible.
También envié otra acuarela sobre el tema de pinceles en el desafío de Daily PaintWorks. Se puede ver allí.

I painted these ships from a photo that I took in Cambados. The foreground boats, which were painted wet-into wet, were done trying experiment. One terrible experiment, as you can see.
I sent a new watercolor, about brushes theme, in DPW challenge. You can watch it there. I hope so

De paseo/Walking

He tratado de pintar algunas figuras , no se cuantas se necesitan pintar para obtener resultados aceptables
Para los paisajes urbanos eran necesarios 20, en este caso probablemente 500 o 600. Menos mal que se pueden pintar un montón con con muy pocos trazos. Tratar de contarlas es inútil, cuando lo haga mejor es que habré alcanzado la cifra.

I tried to paint some figures, I don't know how many is necesary to paint to obtain acceptable results. In cityscapes was necessary 20, in this case probably 500 o 600. Fortunately, is possible  to paint a lot of them with very few strokes. Trying to count them it is useless, when I do it better, it'll be that I've reached the number.

Acantilados de Valdoviño/ Cliffs Valdoviño

En Galicia hubo una tormenta con olas de hasta doce metros y este el resultado que obtenido de un desafío que me propuso Chicha. He estado utilizado húmedo sobre húmedo, pincel seco y húmedo sobre seco.

This is a storm that occurred in Galicia. The waves were of twelve meters and it's the result of the challenge proposed by Chicha.
As can be viewed, I have been using wet-onto-wet, dry brush and wet on dry.
